Our Practice
Whatever the project and scale, we work with enthusiasm, purpose and commitment to create buildings which people respond to instinctively and enjoy.
Our stand-out quality is our creativity and the ability to not follow the norm. This makes us work that bit harder to find the best scheme we can and not be satisfied with ‘just okay’ but push the boundaries. This often leads us to coming forward and initiating or developing emerging ideas.
Through our work, we bring value to our clients. The value that we add in space is easily calculated when you look at market values. The value you add in design is a much more difficult thing to appreciate. Our buildings go well beyond our client’s expectations, so we bring value in both the literal sense – adding space and volume – but also in bringing emotional value.
The thoughtful, attentive approach we have developed through working on high-end homes is welcomed by our commercial clients; and our confidence on the commercial stage allows our residential clients to dream big.
Every building we design, irrespective of the scale and purpose, enhances people’s lives and contributes to a better, more sustainable built environment. That is why we became architects, and why every one of our projects deserves our full attention. Architecture is about imagination and collaboration; it is about people, and about delivering the very best results for our clients.
Our creative process comes out of our shared interests as well as from our different perspectives. We enjoy what we do, and we believe inspirational architecture is possible in every project. We bring the unexpected into the frame, whether we are working on an exceptional individual home, a cultural building, or a developer-led project. We are all intent on creating and delivering outstanding design.
Senior team
Robert Hirschfield
(Director)
Robert is a Chartered Architect and founded Robert Hirschfield Architects (RHA) in 2008.
Robert studied at Cambridge University and at the Royal College of Art. Prior to establishing his own practice, he worked with Richard Rogers, Eric Parry and Daniel Libeskind. Past projects include the Millennium Dome, the Danish Jewish Museum in Copenhagen and Libeskind’s redesign of Ground Zero.
Robert’s overriding design philosophy is to enhance people’s quality of life by improving the design of the environment they live or work in. For Robert, Architecture is about people and how they relate to the spaces they inhabit, and it is always about delivering the very best results for the clients. He sees opportunities for design beyond the norm and raises the bar for those around him, whether clients, colleagues or constructors.
At RHA, Robert oversees the process of translating each client’s individual aspiration into a built reality. He pushes boundaries in all things creative, whilst ensuring that RHA maintains excellent communication with clients throughout as he recognises that this is key to the success of any project.
His role as director focuses on design direction. He manages existing relationships and new business, as well as overseeing designs and building projects.
